Smok TFV8 Cloud Beast Sub Ohm Tank Review

The Smok TFV8 also known as the Cloud Beast, the Taste Fury V8 is a powerful sub ohm tank modeled after the Smoktech TFV4. Designed and manufactured by Smoktech, one of the leading e-cigarette manufacturers. Popular with the TFV4, Smoktech upgraded the TFV4 to the TFV8 for a bigger and badder version capable of storing 6ml of e-liquid. The Taste Fury is known for its high-performance chucking huge clouds at high wattage levels.

Design and Build

The design of the TFV8 is similar to the TFV4, but featuring an upgraded design. With a robust and high-quality build, the TFV8 is made with stainless steel. The diameter of the TFV8 measures at 24.5mm with the glass measuring at 25.5mm diameter. The Cloud Beast design stands at 50mm which gives it an e-liquid capacity of 6ml compared to 5ml with the TFV4. It is designed to produce high vapor efficiency with Smoktech Turbo Boosted Engine Coils.

The top filling of the TFV8 comes with a larger slot for quicker and less messy filling. The top cap locks firmly into place while the TFV4 had some issues of opening up to easy. The tank did not have an issue with leaking from the top portion, which was an issue for some of the TFV4 tanks. This Taste Fury version does not include a top air flow control but instead includes 2 large bottom air slots, an 18% increase in area compared to the TFV4.

The heating air tube in the middle of the tank includes a wider diameter air tube for higher airflow efficiency, 30% larger area than the TFV4. The sub ohm TFV8 exhibits a large caliber Delrin drip tip for even more airflow with huge clouds along with it.

While allowing users to build their own coils, the RBA mode of the TFV8 gives users the ability to build dual coils for maximum flavor. The build deck on the V8 RBA is huge along with the juice well and airflow. The V8 RBA has an 18mm deck, more than enough room to easily mount your dual coils with 2 post Velocity style.

Performance

If you thought the performance of the TFV4 was exceptional, then the TFV8 will blow you away. And if you don’t, then the TFV8 will surely bring out the performance. Not only is the TFV8 great with its improved airflow efficiency, but the new Turbo Boosted Engine Coils takes vapor production to another level.

The Taste Fury V8 pre-built coils are massive in size in one of the largest coils I ever saw. For its huge size, the coils produce incredible vapor production with some of the atomizer head containing 8 coils. There is no atomizer I have seen that comes with 8 coils, not even 6 coils. The Octuple coil head is one of the longest lasting coils I ever used.

There are multiple coil heads available from 4 coils to 8 coils using the Smoktech Patented Turbo Boosted Engine Coils. The TFV8 includes 1 V8-T8 0.15Ω Octuplet coil head, 1 V8-Q4 0.15ohm Quadruple coil head, and 1 pre-install dual Clapton Turbo RBA Head.

When matching it with the Smok H-Priv 220W Box Mod, the Taste Fury V8 performs extremely well around 120W. The flavor stands out with immense clouds. While the TFV8 is not really known for using temperature control mode, the RBA mode allows you to use temperature control coils if prefer.

Final Thoughts

The Cloud Beast is surely a beast with achieving dense vapor proficiency, unlike many sub ohm tanks out in the market. Due to its huge coils, performance is top notch. With a huge RBA base, building the coils are quick and easy allowing more complex build.

The quality of the TFV8 is high grade for durability. The airflow on the TFV8 is superb with a smooth and airy vape. With an upgraded top filling, filling the e-liquid is much easier and the top locking cap is more secured in place.

But beware of the TFV8 because it will definitely slurp up your juice. It wasn’t surprising knowing that this isn’t your little weak tank. This is the type of tank that can win you cloud competitions when pushing it to the limits.
